Optional Performance Features

Speed Sensor (ST670)

Simply plug this speed sensor into the wiring loom to enable speed to be displayed on the LCD readout.  This option is not available on the Standard ST8100 unit

Straight and Corner\ Speed
Readout (ST8109)

Lap Timing System (ST546)

The lap timing receiver simply plugs into the standard dash wiring harness.  When the vehicle passes the track side beacon the lap times "pop up" on the LCD display, accurate to 1/100th of a second.

This feature gives the driver feedback - in real time - of the minimum apex speed maintained through each corner, and the maximum
speed attained at the end of each straight.
The speed 'hold' function can also be used
to capture the speed at any point on the track.
This feature is only available on the ST8100 dash display products and require ST670 speed sensor to be fitted.

Lap Time Memory (ST8190)

This feature records laps by session and indicates the time of the fastest lap of each session.

This option is not available on the
Standard ST8100 unit

Predictive Lap Timing System (ST8108)

Best Previous Lap Time (1:43.48)
Displays the fastest previous lap time.
The system continually compares the time to track position of the current lap against that of the fastest previous lap.  The difference in the times is shown as + or - time differential on the bar graph display (known as the Performance Meter).
By measuring the time to reach the current track position, and by already having recorded the time it took on the fastest previous lap to complete the lap from the current position, the system calculates and displays the Predicted Lap Time.
This feature requires ST670 speed sensor and ST546 lap timing system to be plugged into the dash.  Available for ST8100 and ST8130 only.

Practical Benefits

  • Enables the driver to experiment with different lines through corners, with immediate visual feedback of time gains/losses of 1/20 sec or less.
  • Enables driver to optimize qualifying, by giving an early indication of a fast lap, or a lap off the pace, which should be aborted.
  • Shows potential lap time when the driver can not get a clear flag to flag lap in.
  • Functions as an in-car coach, continually setting the pace for the driver to beat, and displaying how much time is lost each time a mistake is made.

Running Lap Time (28.1)
Displays the time into the current lap.

Predicted Lap Time (1:43.10)
Displays the current prediction of the next lap.

Performance Meter (Bar Graph)
Graphically displays the time difference between the current and best lap as an easy
 to read bar graph.
